about
Back in March, we were offered a free day at the Converse Rubber Tracks Studio here in Boston. We jumped at the opportunity, and were in the studio by May.
We went with a song called "Static". It was written during our sessions at Galaxy Park, recording "Pet Noises" with Richard Marr. To us, it is the first song that really seemed to capture what we strive for as a band. Or, at least the direction we'd all like to go in for the future of the band. We're plucking away on new material for our next LP, but for now, here's "Static", free of charge. We hope you dig it.
lyrics
Watch the world burn
(oh, don't be so dramatic)
Waiting for your turn
(you can see through the static)
Are you almost done?
(black and white, it turns to shades of grey)
The weak link comes undone
(swimming upstream on your merry way)
With your vengeance
it's just another day
A day in the life, a life of anger
with an open vein
Don't bleed all over me
Bring your hammer down
(I'm shaking in my boots, now)
Smash it to the ground
(squash my penchant for the low-brow)
Screaming in my face
(grey turns black and white right before me)
Put me in my place
(as the green light leads me on my merry way)
With my vengeance
it's just another day
A day in the life, albeit reckless
it's one you stole from me
The ghost sets itself free
The weak link comes undone
